2024 SkyFest Camper Tips
for RV’s, Tents and Airplanes

Thank you for purchasing a camping ticket for the upcoming Arlington SkyFest 2024, August 16-18. We hope these tips will ensure a trouble-free visit to the event.

Green gate hours (for road vehicle arrivals):

Friday open: 12 noon, Close: 9 PM
Saturday open: 9 AM, Close: 9 PM
Sunday open: 9 AM, Close: 5 PM (possibly earlier, exiting always OK)

Pilots: Aircraft parking operates about the same hours. Consult the pilot procedures page for specific aircraft operational detail.

What if I arrive before or after gate hours? We have a large area in front of the green camper gate – you are welcome to setup camp in this area until the the gate re-opens.

When are things happening?  Friday night our big screen movie area will show several feature films. On Saturday our event has entertainment all afternoon and evening. At 1pm the car show and food areas will be open. Other activities open in the afternoon, no later than 3PM. Those activities will operate until our evening airshow begins after 6 PM. The drone show is expected to end around 10PM.

What facilities are there?  We do have hot water showers in the camper area. Keep in mind the stalls are private but the showers are very basic and austere. Portable toilets will dot the campground area.

Respect the peace. Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 6 AM. No loud generators or music will be allowed during these hours. Don’t make your campsite louder than the glorious sound of airplanes! If so, even during the day, we may ask you to turn the volume down and reduce your noise footprint.

One ATM.  One ATM is scheduled to be setup by the Red Barn Beer Garden if you prefer cash. Also, the card you use in an ATM is good for payment at all SkyFest locations (beer garden, merchandise sales) and the vast majority of food vendors.

What food is available?  Please be sure to carefully plan and pack for your meals as onsite food options are during specific times only.  Movie snacks will be available Friday night. The main food areas open at noon on Saturday. Expect some meal time lines though, so everyone should probably bring some snacks even if you want to splurge on our amazing collection of food trucks. Sunday food options will be on the East side of the airport.

Grills and open flames?  If there is a burn ban in effect we cannot have open flames on the dry grass airport field. Otherwise your small manufactured propane grill is welcome in your space. As long as it has metal legs, is 2-ft off the ground and you have a fire extinguisher at the ready. If there is a burn ban in effect, we will send an email message to let you know.

Tune-in to the performance. In addition to our speaker system, you can also tune a radio to 89.1 FM and hear the same broadcast.

Bring your walking shoes. Our event is on a very large airport field. To visit all of the features around you will require much walking. Or you can certainly choose to use our shuttle service line, routed around the perimeter. This shuttle can get very crowded and at capacity quickly. We ask that able-bodied individuals allow less-abled folks priority on the shuttle. You can also certainly create your own tailgate HQ and stay and enjoy your parking space exclusively.

Don’t forget sunscreen and hats (and a jacket!).  There is no shade in the parking areas or common areas. Please remember to bring water to stay hydrated. Also, the temperature may drop as our evening entertainment begins.

What about canopies?  You may bring a canopy for shade in your space. Please take your canopy down during showtime if it blocks the view of other guests.

Pets? You may bring your pet as long as long as it is restricted to your space. Service animals exempted.

Please pack-out your trashWe greatly appreciate your help keeping things green.

May I come and go? Yes, campers can receive an in-out pass on exit from the road vehicle campground. Make sure to note the gate times above.

Need to leave early?  Please be sure to call the guest services hotline at 360-502-8062. Please do not exit without an escort or instructions. Exiting will be paused during the Saturday drone show. Pilots should follow aircraft procedures

Need to leave after hours? The campground is normally closed and locked at 9 PM. For urgencies or changes in plans after hours, please exit using the “hangar” gate, which is past the movie area, around the corner to the right. There is a one-way gate that will open automatically when you pull-up.  See this map for an illustration. Once you exit you will need to wait until the camping gate re-opens at 9 AM in the morning for re-entry. If you want to go out somewhere, but stay camped, we suggest hailing a taxi or using ride share services. Pilots should follow aircraft procedures

Hungry and want delivery or need a taxi? Our address is 4700 188th ST NE, STE G, Arlington, WA 98223. Make sure to tell your delivery or taxi service that you will meet them at the gate. The office at this address is closed and will not accept deliveries.  Consult this map for details.

What about Sunday?  All Airport Community day activities are on the EAST side of the field. If you are interested in Young Eagles rides for kids, be sure to register ahead of time.

Need more details during your visit? We have a mobile-friendly mini website you can use while you are onsite at our event. It includes a link to schedules, the map, food truck menus and other information. Save as a favorite in your phone!
